Building a workplace culture that is inclusive and supportive for all is core to SingLand’s values and we continually look for opportunities to put this into practice. With women accounting for 48% of our full-time employees, we are committed to helping our female employees thrive at work.
As part of SingLand Empowers, our corporate initiative to drive efforts to build a more equitable, supportive and inclusive workplace, Women Inspired to Thrive (WIT), was launched in February 2023. The women’s initiative seeks to foster connections among our female employees while supporting, strengthening and emboldening them to work and lead confidently.
The bi-monthly series of closed-door sharing sessions are spearheaded by our Head of Legal & Company Secretary Teo Hwee Ping, and is being introduced to a pilot group of over 40 female managers. Through these sessions, we examine the needs of today’s female professionals and the multiple roles they play – the professional; the caregiver; the mentor and colleague. The inaugural session was a lively one as participants discussed the issue of unconscious bias and women succeeding at the workplace.
Apart from serving as a support group for female employees, WIT also functions as a feedback channel for how we can better support our female colleagues at work. These are all part of our efforts to foster a positive working environment where all employees, regardless of gender or background, are empowered to succeed.
